Light visibility and shadow

When turning area light's visible to camera off, it still casts shadows, is there a way to also get rid of those?

Skyfront VR

Works I have done for a game called Skyfront VR. I'll probably post here more works in the future.

Original render was 10000x6000 pixels and rendered a bit over an hour. Path OpenCl with GPU+CPU. Rendered characters separately, used only sun for keylight, flat color for fill and area for rim light.

Re: Sharp shadows on geometry

I tried with higher subdivision and it made this problem less visible. I googled this effect and seems that other render engines also have same problem. Seems there is not a clever solution for it yet? An article about this matter, it explains this problem pretty well -http://blog.irayrender.com/pos...

Sharp shadows on geometry

How to get rid of these sharp polygon shaped shadows on character armour, is my only choice to use high level of subdivision?

Re: Instanced object motion blur

Did a test file with Cycles and LuxCore. Cycles is rendering as would be expected of this movement.
I added to blend files with test scenes, they should be produce same results.

Instanced object motion blur

I tried to use animation nodes to convert my particle system to animated meshes and then render them with motion blur, but it didn't work. So I thought maybe it has something to do with object instances. It seems, that instanced objects do not work with motion blur as expected. My animation was a z ...

Re: Sun's intensity

Interesting ideas here. At first I discarded changing aperture, because I thought I would lose my shallow dof. But dof is not linked to tonenapping :D

Is there any benefit with different tonemappings performancewise?

Re: Sun's intensity

Simple test scene for sun light. My camera has 5.6 aperture, 1/500 shutter speed and 100 iso. If I need to use lower shutter speed, let's say 1/50, picture gets too bright. In real life we have neutral density filters to darken the image. What would be the correct way to do it in LuxCore. I know I c...

Re: Sun's intensity

Okay, so when I leave sun's intensity at 1, it should correspond to the intensity that we see with clear sky on earth? I'll give this a try
