Inside of a Menger sponge with Cupid, a Nymph and The Marble Player.

.
PathOCL + PGI + OIDN on RTX2070+GTX1060 28min for 1500 samples.
Cache Building (2 million photons) takes 13min with the sculptures and pipes, without only 15 sec.
Now waiting for cache save, load and merge functionality for animation 8-)

Thanks Guys!

@wasd:
Denoise painting?!

I chose the Menger sponge because it creates interesting light situations inside.
Your experiments are very welcome!

Thanks Lincoln & Racleborg!

Now I wasted one day of render time experimenting with scattering volumes, no result.
Also OIDN does not work well with volumes (It's a mystery to me why OIDN doesn't like GODRAYS - probably another dyslexic issue).

Anyways, after restoring clear skies there is another menger frame render:

...aaand now it's here and it works great!

Rendered 300 frame animation of the bunker scene in 25h including 90 (!) min cache building.
Then used DaVinci Resolve to retime into 1200 frames for 24 x 50/s.
The DaVinci optical flow algorithm has problems with the concrete texture, probably I should have used motion blur.

It is likely to be the Albedo AOV, it is unknow how volumes are supposed to be handled in Albedo pass for Oidn :?:

It may be better to not used the Albedo AOV at all and that case.
