You have to help us understand what you mean by quality ?
In case you want more samples before RT stop computing it is here :
preview perf.jpg
The image will look cleaner by increasing the time.

thanks for replying,
I am not using luxcore for blender but integrating luxcore to our 3d editors.
by improving image quality, I mean other than reducing resolution, was there any other way I could modify in code to make the image looks cleaner and less noise. I knew rendering is all about balancing quality and speed. since the RTPATHOCL preview speed is pretty fast, I think it's totally fine to make it run a little bit slower but cleaner.

You can use Optix denoiser with RTPATHOCL. It is really fast and usable with RTPATHOCL. It will clean most of the noise after few seconds of rendering. There is an image pipeline plugin for that.

Intel OIDN is the alternative portable option but you have to be careful with the refreshes because it can take up to a couple of seconds to denoise an high resolution image.
