Hi

Is it still possible to Colour Ramp the Pointiness (attached).I would like to use this with the Velvet material, but I can't find the settings.

Yes.
In the node editor, Add -> Utils -> Band.
Unfortunately the colorramp can not be used from Python, so we have to make do with this crude imitation.
You can think of it as a colorramp tilted sideways.
If you have questions about it, feel free to ask.
