Hi

Early days modelling my old Fostex M80 multitrack recorder. (attached)

I would like to add a bumb map to the tape spools to make it look like wound tape. How can I set up the Luxcore textures to create the circular effect?

Also, do you think it would be possible to get the LEDs to respond to an audio track?

Thank you

Nice and well detailed.
But why a so small resolution ?

Hi Sharlybg.
But why a so small resolution ?
It's because at this stage I'm just asking questions about textures etc. The end goal is an animation of the mechanisms which will of course be done in a decent resolution. Do you know how to do the circular textures for the spools? ;)

Cheers

Try this texture as bump or normal map (convert it in normal before in this case) :

Wow, thanks. That's awesome! :)

I'd still like to know, for the future, how to make the Lux textures go circular(does that make sense?)

Thanks

You can make any textures go circular with UV mapping, for example like in this file: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=862&hilit=anisotrop ... t=10#p9162
The workflow is that you take a rectangle with subdivisions, unwrap it, then bend it into a circle (while the UV map stays rectangular).

Thank you. I'll try that tomorrow.

In order get get around the Bake Sound to F Curve for the VALUE node issue, I'm scaling a mesh lamp which sits behind some coloured glass. The scale of the lamp is driven on the Z axis by values created from the Bake Sound to F Curve. The only problem that I'm having (so far) is that the values created are too small. I could go into my sound editor (Cubase) and edit there, but does anyone know how I can increase the values within Blender. Maybe one of the Graph Editor modifiers?

EDIT: Trying the ENVELOPE modifier, but lacking understanding of it. Would this question be best posted on a Blender dedicated forum?

Thank you
