Nope, tried but no benefits.
Sorry for you ! You can consider it as gained experience ( even if i think you have a lot for a single human being ;) )

It is a different problem I have still to look into: it is usually solved by increasing path.photongi.*.lookup.maxcount but I have yet to try. I'm still looking into caustics "pointness", it doesn't convince me and it should be fixable.

Impressive work Dade !

Regarding splotches, are the caches used as simple 2d "heat maps" during rendering, or additional infos are used ? Would it make any sense to denoise the caches before using them to render ?

have a nice day all !

About splotchiness in the "corner".... could have meaning to evaluate something like an ambient occlusion that drive ( focus) the photons in that regions? (Sorry for the uncorrect words... as Ambient Occlusion I mean a way to estimate the geometry intersections just in a radius)

Just for reference, Vray has a retrace option in the lightcache settings that prevent light leaks.

I added PhotonGI support to BlendLuxCore.

You're working hard mate...

You and Dade are probably reason I will soon cancel my corona subscription license and instead will support this project on a regular basis.

And to think that not so long ago luxrender was probably the slowest renderer on planet... Incredible.

Did few quick tests and I'm having big problems solving light leaking and glossy reflections look weird. First impressions are very close to DLCS, where it is a bit of pain to set up properly.

Great!
Does that mean v2.2alpha0 is released?
I cannot find where to download it, or does it need to be compiled?

Especially sun+sky+interior seem to be extremely difficult to sample properly
