I have installed a phpBB extension for forum mentions: you type "@" followed by 2 letters and a list of possible user to mention pop up @Dade.

Does it notify the user that he/she was mentioned?

after submitting the post it will create a notification to that user.

Yup, it works ... but seems to do a mess when quoting a mention

edit: The notifications seem to work.

I guess it is better to disable the extension, the problem is quite annoying.

Don't know how much work it is though.
