Hey LuxCore Community! I’m excited to finally share that my Oxford University PhD dissertation is complete and officially published at the Annual of the British School of Athens. This project focused on a full 3D reconstruction of the Parthenon of Athens, the iconic temple on the Acropolis that once housed a massive gold and ivory statue of Athena. I used LuxCoreRender to calculate how natural and artificial light interacted with the temple’s interior.

Blender was used for the core modelling, while LuxCore handled the heavy lifting when it came to photometric calculations and matching lux values to real-world lighting conditions.

Additional Unreal Engine was used for video editing, which I share below for those interested in the bigger picture.

Huge thanks to the LuxCore devs and this amazing community, especially B.Y.O.B and CodeHD, for your guidance and support throughout the process made a massive difference.

Hi,

congratulations on your PhD! And thanks for letting us know of the results. The animations look very nice.
I've downloaded your thesis, I'll make sure to check out some more details ;)

By the way, great timing. LuxCoreRender is currently being updated to continue with new development.

Can we show some examples of your work on other channels? For example the gallery on the homepage or the Instagram account?
I'd be looking at more examples from your Thesis first and check again explicitly about specific images.

Hi CodeHD,

Thank you, and thank you for taking LuxCore forward!

You can definitely use all images and video in the main page, as they are CC BY 4.0, and would be great if they help to promote LuxCore.
