car

Post by modhob »

hi

anybody have any good car scenes? I am using blender 2.8 and lux 2.2

i've tried a bunch of stuff myself and can't get anything that looks good, either with lux or cycles.

a good scene to learn from would be great if one exists. I see you have a bunch of downloadable examples but none with cars. It would be a great addition I think since cars are one of the most popular 3d things to create and render.

thx

see my image. Not as good as in that video. Not sure what else I can do to make it better.

I am using just an HDRI for lighting like it looks like he is in the video

suggestions?

Here's a tip!

"Close to what?"
You'd be better off starting with a goal (having a reference to guide your workflow and creative process) makes path into 'virtual car photography' much easier.

Now, move your thread...

I tried downloading that and opening in 3 different versions of blender and they all say file format not supported

i tried in 2.8, 2.9, and 2.93, and the tags on that link are 2.8 - 3.1 so it should load according to that. I can't load a higher version of blender because I am using windows 7 still

also, it looks like it is for cycles? I don't see anything about lux mentioned

I made the scene to work with older blender versions and changed the materials to luxcore materials, i also put a car shape with a simple carpaint, you can play with the invert color, the metal roughness and the absorption values: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_Z9OHc ... sp=sharing
