Server with multiple CPU or Server with multiple GPU

I open the debate, for a render, a CPU with 12 cores at 2.5 ghz or a CPU with 2 AMD RX550 4GB is better ?

Hi, don´t bother with this "Low end" cards, they are to limited on VRAM and performance.
Nvidia cards are much better supported for render engines, you can use the RT core of RTX cards but you need at least a RTX 3060 8GB.
GPU are to expensive today, maybe next year prices goes down to normal.
I would go for the 12 core CPU and 32 GB of RAM.

I'm totally agreed with mib2berlin, you need a really good GPU or it is better to go with CPU as it can speed up all other processes too.
Generally using GPU for small and medium protect is a good idea but for big projects, it's not recommended as big projects normally need a huge amounts of memory among other things. so it's basically impossible. Also, you will not find big companies that use GPU for rendering a huge project. (if they do it it's just for show of and showing the features)
