Hi !
DOn't know if someone else get into the same issue but I'm running an animation with persistent PGI/ENV cache and i get huge flickering due to
the fact that cached files are sometime not loaded by Luxcore. here is the result :
Animation_Test
Here when cache isn't auto loaded
Here when i manually load cache file
and it is what happen during the animation rendering cache file are randomlly loaded and unloaded.
Making the final result to switch between bright and dark look constantlly.

Re: Persistent Cache not loaded
Here you can see how it look like on frame folder. Darker frame randomlly sisde by side with brighter frame :

What does it mean ? Do you get an error ?Sharlybg wrote: Wed May 05, 2021 9:46 pm flickering due to the fact that cached files are sometime not loaded by Luxcore.
Re: Persistent Cache not loaded
No error in the error log panel. But you can see that it lead to a strong unstable light intensity between frames in both video and images i have posted.
I have been enable to reproduce the issue i think: just precompute your cache and save somewhere and disable overwrite after. then press CTR+F12 to launch animation (make sure to choose a folder for frames ).
Re: Persistent Cache not loaded
By looking at the settings, you have enabled periodic updates: you must disable it or the caustic cache will be loaded and than discarded and replaced after 8 samples. Indeed, it is not what you want.Sharlybg wrote: Wed May 05, 2021 11:17 pm I have been enable to reproduce the issue i think: just precompute your cache and save somewhere and disable overwrite after. then press CTR+F12 to launch animation (make sure to choose a folder for frames ).

Re: Persistent Cache not loaded
I Forget to disable that sorry in this file (wasn't enable in original file). But even if i disable it in the simplified scene i continue to have same error.Dade wrote: Thu May 06, 2021 10:24 amBy looking at the settings, you have enabled periodic updates: you must disable it or the caustic cache will be loaded and than discarded and replaced after 8 samples. Re: Persistent Cache not loaded
I have simplified the cache by using only caustic cache no more envi or indirect cache.
And it is still unstable with a persistent cache.
Is it a bug i really want to complete this project.

Re: Persistent Cache not loaded
This Blinking is gonna run me Crazy
. No matter what i do it is breaking the cache is persistent so why it is changing without periodic update ?
