No, Disney has always a glossy component (https://github.com/LuxCoreRender/LuxCor ... y.cpp#L468), it is never a 100% matte material.daros wrote: ↑Fri Nov 13, 2020 4:09 pm how it comes that the disney shader, which is aligned to the matte shader at material color 0.7,0.7,0.7 , delivers so much brighter results starting from color 0.8,0.8,0.8 ?
If the disney material is aligned to the matte material at 0.7,0.7,0.7 should it not be aligned also at 0.8,0,8,0.8?

Re: Disney vs matte
Still, why it is alligned at 0.7,0.7,0.7 and not at 0.8,0.8,0.8? Why at 0.8,0.8,0.8 it already reflects more light as recived? Is the diffuse reflection limit below 0.8,0.8,0.8? It seems that as soon as the disney shader has to deal with itself it quickly shows it physical limits. Is there a study about those limits in a bidir engine?

Re: Disney vs matte
way late to this party but Disney has a different falloff behavior than Matte (and Glossy and Matte and Glossy Translucent) so maybe that's part of it?
Matte on the left Disney on the right.
Matte on the left Disney on the right.
