I have published an experimental release with support for Nvidia's Optix denoiser in the viewport.
Everything is explained on the release page: https://github.com/LuxCoreRender/BlendL ... eta3_optix
Here is a video showing the feature in action: https://youtu.be/mSgNaBvrftE
This release only runs on Windows. The Optix denoiser requires an Nvidia GPU.
Note that I do not guarantee that this experimental branch makes it into the official releases.
BlendLuxCore v2.1beta3 with Optix integration
Re: BlendLuxCore v2.1beta3 with Optix integration
Just tested and it works great. Any reasons why it can not become a part of official realeses?

Re: BlendLuxCore v2.1beta3 with Optix integration
Every new feature has a maintenance cost in the future: you have to keep it working when restructuring code, you have to update it if the external dependencies change etc.
All of this for a feature that is Nvidia-exclusive and doesn't even have a CPU fallback? I'm not sure if this is a good idea.

Re: BlendLuxCore v2.1beta3 with Optix integration
Blender itself is going in that direction.... Optix may be soon the part of Cycles core to make it faster. Anyway it could stay just as its now an option for nvidia cards owners...B.Y.O.B. wrote: ↑Mon Dec 10, 2018 1:25 pm Every new feature has a maintenance cost in the future: you have to keep it working when restructuring code, you have to update it if the external dependencies change etc.

Or we can go for another opensource denoiser like intel one (of course when they release it) :

Yes its just another option but....the problem with waiting is nobody likes to wait while we have ready to use future and it can be advertise to get more people to use luxcore projectSharlybg wrote: ↑Mon Dec 10, 2018 1:52 pm Or we can go for another opensource denoiser like intel one (of course when they release it) :
