Hi
I’ve been playing around with the velvet shader for quite a while, but just can’t seem to make anything as realistic as this (image attached). I can sculpt (to a fashion) but it’s the material itself that I’m stuck with.
Many thanks

Re: Realistic velvet material please
I've made this, but it just doesn't look quite right to me. Where am I going wrong? Thanks

Re: Realistic velvet material please
First you need to '(re)create' good lighting conditions. That's fundamental for achieving good 'Look'. Do more with shadows/lights, since your setup is quite flat, void of 'sharpness' revealing details. Only after, you can get wanted, better results.
eg
Armchair.7z @wetransfer

Look up for some "product Look-Dev" tutorials.

Nice work. It really 'feels plushy'.
