Post by Sanguinario_Joe »

I just announced I am developing a X-Rays simulator using LuxCoreRender in FreeCAD:

For the time being is just an experiment. But hopefully it will be ready for production soon

That is a nice initiative rhanks for sharing the idea.
I wish to switch from revit to freecad recently but find hard to get good architectural tutorial on the subject.
By the way may i ask you how this kind of simulator are used in production or the purpose of such a tools.

You may not!!! I will not accept any more impertinences!!! :D

It is funny... is that not enough? No, seriously... I am interested on metal artifacts in CTs. Anyway, a bunch of of practical applications come to my mind:

- Training neural networks for airport security
- Setting up experiments that would involve either tests on animals or humans
- Any environment where trial and error might become unacceptably expensive/long. Like when synchrotron radiation is required, or the scan shall be carried out in a very specific location

Many others can be figured out...

It is actually a pleasure working with LuxCoreRender... Simple yet effective... Now I should "hack" it to add more physics. Let see if it becomes cooperative
