Re: Volumetrics issues
anyway we are going to try to assign that value to everything included in the fog volume... let's see what happens.
Re: Volumetrics issues
wow... it seems to work. Sorry, it was difficult for me to understand the logics behind that.
Thanks again dade.

Re: Volumetrics issues
Hi, new issue:
This is what i get from this scene with volumetrics turned off:
and this is what i get wen i turn volumetrics on, water has gone: it's a volume priority issue?
if we have the fog volume surrounding the scene set as interior volume, the walls as exterior volume, and the water as interior volume, which are the priorities which we have to assign to each volume?
We tried with fog volume set as priority 0, the walls as priority 0, and the water as 1 but the result is the same...
here the luxcore scene

Re: Volumetrics issues
Naturally, solids have higher priority than fluids, which have higher priority than gases.
BTW
here's quick animation of camera transition from outside into fog

Re: Volumetrics issues
It seems that all volumes in your scene are defined with the same ior = 1.5, so no difference between fog and water...
Code: Select all
scene.volumes.envVolume.ior = "1.5"
Re: Volumetrics issues
Thanks acasta69, sorry for the stupid error.
now a new question.
the following picture is taken with the camera outside from the fog box.
Why i do not see the blue sky which is set as environnment around the fog box?
Thanks again for your help.

and one more question but i cannot upload the file today.
here is a tree with fog off:
and here we have a very thin fog, about 10km visibility
why the shading of the tree shows up so differently?
tomorrow morning i can upload the luxcore scene.
air now is set to ior 1
