Silk material

Post by daros »

Hi, we are struggling to archive a nice looking silk material.

The real reference photos we did:

texture at 0 degrees
silk-E1.jpg
silk-E1.jpg (32.5 KiB) Viewed 1418 times
texture at 90 degress
silk-E2.jpg
silk-E2.jpg (30.87 KiB) Viewed 1418 times

Our result in maxwell

texture at 0 degrees
max-silk01b.JPG
texture at 90 degress
max-silk01a.JPG

Here an other maxwell example:
silk01 maxwell.jpg

and here the luxcore version
silk01 lux.jpg

Here both in action:

Maxwell

Luxcore

In luxcore we used two mixed metal shaders. Unfortunately we are not able to archive in luxcore the desired brillance and dynamics as in Maxwell.

Here is the cloth scene:

Some improvement. Still i cannot match the contrast of the maxwell version. May the high anisotrpy lowers the brightness becasue the roughness-darkening issue of Luxcore?
