Different HDRi for Lightning and Camera?

Post by HoppyHopp » Wed Sep 02, 2020 7:42 am

Hey,
Is it possible in LuxCore to use 1 HDRI for rhe lightning and annother one for the viewport/camera?
In Cycles i can use the Lightpath-Node for that, but i read that this node will not come for LuxCore.

I found a workaround not the best or efficient but it gets the job done.

Would be great to share so others can learn about it. ;)

But that doesn't have the right "light intensity". From what I gathered you can't have emission w/o influencing other geo. As mentioned before Rayswitcher, Light Path node or a dedicated Environment Light setup (like most other engines do) would help and solve the issue.

eg RadeonPro Render's Env. Light controls:

I'm also interested in what's been done here to tackle this problem.

As i said it is rlly dirty and cheap.

Just render with the "Light-HDRI" and transparent Film. And then change to the "View-HDRI" and render without any objects.
Combine both in post. Ofc in some cases in can cause problem with reflections but im fine with that, better than nothing. ^^

Light HDRI:

Combined transparent film render width no object "View-HDRI" render:
