To further elaborate, I have the feeling Windows is spawning 72 rendering threads when asked but it is keeping them all on the same physical processor.

It probably does not depend on Windows.
All other programs and even Blender 2.81 Cycless use 72 threads.

Unfortunately, we are still looking for a MacOS maintainer.

Any thing we can do so far? I think, compiling for MacOS is far beyond my skills..

I LOVE LuxCoreRender, I was a Maxwell Render user from the first Alpha Version. Nowadays, LCR is even better, I just tested MW5 Studio, but its just unusable. Crashes every minute, no HiDPI Screen Support (at least not on MacOS). Still on Blender 2.7 when using LCR, but Blender 2.8 and LCR on MacOS would just be too good to be true! :-)

Thank you for this amazing work! <3
