IES and emission map file

Post by daros »

Hi, i have a few questions regarding Lux and IES lighting:
Does LuxCore supports direct imput of IES files without previous conversion to "emission light map" via Blender?
If yes, which are the advantages/disadvantages of the emission light maps conversion?
Thanks!

I'm not totally sure to understand the question but BlendLuxCore doesn't any conversion (LuxCore does) so I assume the answer is yes.

If you are using the FILESAVER to export the scene from Blender, you will get the "converted" map but it is something done by LuxCore because it is the way IES files are internally stored (so the FILESAVER saves directly the final result). The conversion is done by LuxCore and BlendLuxCore just pass the IES file to LuxCore.
