Added variance clamping support to BIDIRCPU
I have added the support for variance clamping to BIDIRCPU. It is enabled with the usual property "path.clamping.variance.maxvalue". This is a rendering with PATHCPU and 300 samples per pixel and the (heavy) variance clamping enabled:

Same rendering with BIDIRCPU and the (heavy) variance clamping enabled:
And this with BIDIRCPU and the (heavy) variance clamping disabled:
BIDIRCPU+Variance Clamping is clearly working well

Re: Added variance clamping support to BIDIRCPU
Can you post fully converged Bidir without clamping and with clamp so we see how much detail is lost or not ?
Re: Added variance clamping support to BIDIRCPU
Ok, going to take some time for renderings.Sharlybg wrote: Sat Apr 07, 2018 9:42 pm Can you post fully converged Bidir without clamping and with clamp so we see how much detail is lost or not ?
Re: Added variance clamping support to BIDIRCPU
I added support for it in the Blender addon.
(However you have to wait for the next release or compile yourself if you want to try it)
