Falloff

Post by Racleborg »

I have been struggling to create a velvet material such as the one in this video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6G1R0eOtV8

Despite various attempts, with Lux's Velvet shader, I'm having a problem working out how to produce the Fallof, such as in the video at: 1:58min.

Any help would be really appreciated, or could someone create the same in Lux and upload it? ;)

Thank you

I fear the wiki page won't be much help: https://wiki.luxcorerender.org/LuxCoreR ... als_Velvet

@BYOB

I have a few image examples (attached) but struggling to get it to look correct once rendered. (it might just be my bad lighting!)

I'll battle on .... and upload a scene at some point for advice.

Thanks

I think I've just worked out where I'd been going wrong - I'd been adding too much Bump, which was killing the soft velvety effect.

The attached(with and without bump), although there is loads of room for improvement, is at least the basics of what I'm trying to achieve.

Cheers
