Duplicated objects

Post by wasd »

That brick sticking out of the wall is child object, which is duplicated with parent object's option "Duplication - Faces".
Is it possible not to render that base object? I exclude layer with the brick from rendering, but it still casting shadow.

Looks like a bug in the Blender addon.

I found that as a temporary workaround, you can hide the duplicator by disabling the render visibility (in the outliner).
Obviously this is not how it should work in Blender, it's a regression in the addon. I'll try to fix it.

Don't exclude the layer through render layers, this is a different functionality (it makes all objects on excluded layers invisible to the camera only).
