There is no Maya plugin yet, so it's not really possible.
You could export your scene to Blender and setup materials and lighting there, but that's not really answering your question.

Currently nobody is working on a Maya plugin, so you might have to wait a very long time.
You could ask in a Maya forum if someone wants to write a plugin, though.
