Noise aware sampling

Post by DorPrz »

Hi all,
I read about the noise aware sampling feature:
http://www.luxrender.net/wiki/LuxRender ... e_sampling
How do I turn it on?

I am getting very different noise levels in my scene, is that the feature I should use? Any other ideas?

It is enabled by default (even if if it is quite different from the one you linked, in old Lux) if you are using SOBOL (or RANDOM) sampler.

It is controlled by the "adaptive strength" setting. This value is a probability:
By default the sampler is noise-aware in 7 of 10 samples, and uniform in 3 of 10 samples.
If you use higher values the sampler focuses more on noisy areas, if you use lower values it samples the image more uniform.
