heavy geometry crash

Post by lacilaci »

I think I went a bit overkill on some hedge geometry. So I guess it won't fit into gpu ram.

However my question is, shouldn't there be a warning like when framebuffer is too big for denoiser, or is it ok for blender to crash.

Is it maybe blenders fault? it's a 1.4GB/12.6M poly hedge linked and instanced 3x(but it's not really instance for alphav3 I guess)

Would potential proxy system help with this type of case?

Use a particle system, e.g. place a long plane, subdivide with edge loops, then add particles with "emit from face" option and set amount of particles to amount of faces in the subdivided plane.

Yes, in Blender you would see a lowpoly preview and on render start LuxCore would pull the high-resolution .ply from disk and instance it.
