ok, you are totally right, I just re-tested it and yes, a fullyk empty scene without anything with the 2080Ti, without the 970 gives me 950Mb of Vram.

May be a good idea to have some kind of multiplier or setting as an advanced option to tune in that, just because sometime maybe you prefer to have a bit more ram insted of going to Out Of Core, and 500Mb of Vram is quite a big amount of Ram for cards with 8gb or 11Gb of Ram, specially when in reality we have way less because the OS eats up a big part.
