dark gradients

I don't know for sure, but this doesnt look normal to me.

roughness at 1

roughness at 0.8

What I don't understand is the dark gradient near corners, it only appears with medium-high roughness and it makes walls appear floating.

in cycles's principled shader the behavior is consistent without weird dark corners.

Is this normal?

It remenber me the grazing angle darkening issue. And i think we do need a new Shading model (Luxcore 3.0 maybe ) for that to be solved.

I know this is an issue with older shaders (matte, glossy...) I thought disney doesn't show the problem (it doesn't in cycles at least)
I think bidir in luxcore also works well but haven't tested
