Re: How to make bump
Take the Color Out to the Bump Height.
I tend to add a Band node in there for more control then adjust Value in Bump node. (about .01)
I think that's correct...

Re: How to make bump
Actually it's intended that you plug the bump texture color into the "Value" input of the bump node.
The height input is intended for adjusting the height (it's not visible here, but it uses units if you have them enabled).
However, you can not do anything wrong because the whole thing is just a simply multiply node, and multiplication is commutative.

Re: How to make bump
Apology for giving the incorrect information.
and thank you for the clarification.

Re: How to make bump
This is the second time that someone wonders where to plug the texture on the bump node.
I'm starting to think that it is not intuitive enough.
For the OP: you don't need the "normalmap" node at all here (actually it is probably never needed by most users, it's for very advanced users who want to create normalmaps in nodes. Usually you just need to check the "normalmap" checkbox on the image texture if it is a normalmap).
