I have the ability to implement Luxcore in projects of this level:

Where people have the resources to do animations of this.
In the last month alone, five people doing the highest level graphics have consulted with me and tried Luxcore.
Everyone had the answer I hear from everyone, "cool, promising, but how to work?"

And there have been so many of them this year that I won't even count.

From what I can test on my scene, turning off Light Tracing in the viewport gives me back 50% - 75% of the responsiveness (while using GPU). Switching to CPU viewport rendering (also without Light Tracing) gives me back realtime viewport responsiveness.

Sure now that i facr the issue i understand.
It is basically like shooting ourselves in tje legs.
My super efficient working habits tends to hide such kinds of quirkyness.

This is what i was saying about """ better use the few time and ressources we have """
Don't even talk about intégration of a software like hdri light studio.

This isn't a solution. So basically we are back to the forever question. How that can help people switch to luxcore.
You Don't buy a 1000 dollars GPU to see in IDLe.
Look like a giant with very tiny legs.

I'm not saying it's perfect, or that it should be like that forever. But this is known and advertised, when you switched from CPU to GPU:

Viewport_LightTracing.png
Now of course, could it be better? Sure. But pushing all the data out to the GPU takes time. Other good solutions have been proposed, like pausing the rendering until editing has stopped.

Perhaps we can find a way to ask nicely for the devs to invest time into this. But behaving like spoiled children and making a big scene is not the way to get the support we need, and it doesn't demonstrate the kind of community that is going to "attract people to LuxCore".

That's true. the conversation is a little bit harsh and everyone needs to consider the amount of work already done in the project especially with this small group of people and remember the main developer that already has a full-time job.

Martini , why don't we discuss the issue not on the balloon stage.
Take my stage. It's a real working project. It's a day-to-day flow.

And yes, please be more polite.

Sure wann't hurt anyone feeling or be disrespectfull to the job done so far. Sometime it look like people have to argue like hell to proove some obvious pattern and i don't think it help making things better.
How many time this issue has been pointed out by users and could have been prioritize over some other features ?
How many time this viewport issue will stay like considering how hard it is to make a point.

I do understand that we are all there on spare time but i reiterate that this energy can be managed better. In the other side it happen that we all see sometime that the project need a bit of guidance and planning but there is like a fear to talk about it ?

I will never ask a developper to dedicate it full time to the project in this current world. But i only say that we need all to know where we are going and what kind of product and community we are building.

A developer can still spend his monthly X hour on the project but if the users know what is going on and has been taken in consideration during the choice process we avoid that kind of confusion.

We had in the past feature poll and discussion and a kind of artists or community driven development but this nice idea just disappear.

I know how to shut up it lead me sometime to not even mention bugs as i dont want to bother Devs. I know how to hide uggly part of an engine to not affraid people ( reason why my cycles x vs luxcore didn't go out even in private )

Dade Simon Omid Michael acasta u3dreal know how hard i admire them and they fully deserve more than that. For this reason i feel really bad when they precious time look wasted or not efficiently employed. That is my main concern. I think that the team effort should be organised alongside a kind of realistic roadmap. A bit of clarity will help everyone the devs also as they are the most limited ressources of this project.

If someone saw me being disrespectfull I apologize as it is by no mean my intention.

You are one of the best and I always admire your works. I need to learn more from you.

Yeah, I agree, we should not be afraid to talk about it (respectfully). There used to be a roadmap - I don't have the link anymore and right now I am already late for work so I can't go dig it up for you, sorry :( I will have another look when I get time. I'm sure I saw it posted on these forums a year or two ago.

I follow your stuff here and on YouTube, don't worry, it's not aimed at you Sharly :)
