There are many techniques in that video, it would be good if you could show the Cycles node tree of a specific one so we can translate that to Lux, if viable.

A simple trick is something like this: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=102&p=1855#p1902
However the effectiveness is a bit limited (depends on your scene).

Thank you for the simple trick link.
I've downloaded the Polygon Node and under the hood is looks very complicated so I'll see how far I can get converting it to Lux. :?
