There is a little problem with the new option "show in viewport" : It doesn't respect material face matching. I mean sometime when i hit this button the texture cover the entiere object.
Thanks for the report, I had not thought of this case.
I fixed it.
Go into edit mode, select all faces that you want to "reset", open an image editor and click on the "x" to the right of the currently selected image name.
I select all faces in edit mode, open file in image editor, press "Show in Viewport" button. Still no image in viewport.
In one file everything is fine, in another I can't see texture in viewport.
Dirty file curse again
UPD: Found it. It's Viewport/Shading/Textured Solid checkmark. Should be checked. Thanks, wasd.
Consider that you're using a daily build, so if you're in production could be a bit risky.
In any case it seems working fine.
Try it and check if it's good enough.
Didn't try it yet, but isn't this also ray-trayced? Material preview shouldn't use ray traycing. It should just project texture and add bump. Now luxcore pretty useless when it comes to texturing objects. You must set up textures in cycles or eevee, then do something to uv until ur satisfied with look, then switch to luxcore and make materials. :crap:
Take a blender daily build, take a daily BlendLuxCore build and try it.
At the moment it's the only way to preview textures without passing by Cycles or EEVEE .
And if you have any requests about this, make a question to B.Y.O.B that is developing the Blender addon.
