It occurs also here on windows, but apparently on first render after blender startup only, from second render on everything is ok.
Also, it seems it is only the time counter and screen refresh that goes on, not really the render, as CPU usage drops to zero when halt time is reached.

Here are my steps:
  1. Start Blender (with default initial cube scene)
  2. Select Luxcore as render engine
  3. Set halt conditions, e.g. time = 20 s
  4. Hit F12
Path CPU is used as I did not change any of the default settings.
Time count and screen refresh will continue after halt time is reached, but CPU goes to zero, so render is actually stopped.

Then starting a new render again with F12 will work as expected when halt time is reached.

The same as above happens also if I select Bidir at step 3, but not when I select path OCL.

It should be a problem in BlendLuxCore python code because it happens only on the first rendering and the halt conditions seem to work fine with luxcoreconsole.

Followed exactly your steps, still cannot reproduce on linux.

A bit vague what you report, but i would try with/without cpu on a less powerful machine.
NVidia drivers tend to need a bit more "feedpower".

I personally can not reproduce less speed generally, can you be a bit more specific ?

Very slow compile time. And poor performance compared to CPU.But will add more after testing on AMD GPu.
