PGI Question: What Is "Lookup?"

Hello all! I'm writing user documentation for PhotonGI, and have a question about what the technical meaning of a lookup? They seem to be referenced multiple places and have a pretty large influence on PGI results. Thanks!

When you look for a near enough and valid pre-computed value inside the cache. The parameters related to the "lookup" task are usually the one used to define how the cache will be searched, etc.
