Thanks for comments.
Am well aware of "mistakes"... so just to note, an example took merely a couple of clicks (~10min):
0. Read post & Save image
1. Auto correct w/ Irfan
2. Masking in GIMP
a. pumping up blues
b. warming & desaturrating greens
Export.
Upload & write a post.
8-)

PS
Adobe is a bad, old joke and PS ain't fitting my flow.

be good, do good

Haha, don't even get my started, I got an horror gallery of Phosotop bugs/erros, unfortunately I depend on it for a living and there's no real competition for it.But I keep at least 2 versions of PS at all times, because you never know what surprises Adobe has for you on new updates.

Never the less, I'm pretty sure GIMP will benefit as well from 16 bits more accurate mechanics, even if the original is 8bits, try to convert it to 16bits, run your "tweaks" and convert it back to 8bits.The differences can be huge (huge is not an overstatement).I could include some screeenshots but dont want to hijack this.Just give it a try ;)
