This scene is based o the work of fabi and B.O.Y.B. here.
The cute models are from threedscans.com and the marble texture from sharetextures.com.
I only modelled the steps, textured and arranged the scene which is meant to showcase refractive and volumetric caustics with a hint of dispersion.
Needs LuxCore v2.2.
BiDir metropolis denoised with OIDN (50%), vignette and gamma correction,
3000 samples in 6h on Ryzen 2700X.

How do you denoise, what do you mean by 50%, like you render at 200%, which is denoised and then resampled down to 50%?

Like he mix raw render with denoised OIDN by 50% .

Yep, denoised AOV is too clean (detail loss presumably because of volume scatter) and raw AOV has some noise left so I mix them in Blender compositor.
Can be checked in the blend file.

I have often the same experience, because I prefer little noise in the picture rather than too clean images. However there are reasons for super clean images but then OIDIN sometimes cleans not enough especially in dark areas with spread bright single noise pixels, I wouldn’t call them fireflies. In these cases helps only brute destructive gauss filter a bit.

All in all, the composite of denoised and raw image between 5 and 50% results in what I like most.
