Deep Render - A Series of Interesting Effects
My intention is to share the kind of details that really attract my curiosity.
Details in the meaning of "Hm, this render result is pretty unexpected. What did I?" Did I forget to check something?"
There are plenty of things one may have forgotten ore one have been done wrongly.
  • checking mesh's normals
  • unconnected, overlapping points in a mesh
  • overlapping objects
  • wrong priority of a volume
  • object at absolute position (0,0,0,)
  • unchecked properties, like e.g. light tracing
  • missing object volume, i.e. plane mesh instead of thin cube mesh
  • cylinders smooth shaded without normals' option set to auto smooth
  • et cetera
These are all common things, at least for me, and they are sometimes ..., well, more than a little bit annoying but nevertheless very usual. Therefore, all of these standard things are not of any topic in this series.

First episode coming soon: 'Fireflies, friends or foes?'
