LEGO® 7111 Droid Fighter Recreation

Hey all, I'm back with a LEGO® render.

Recreating the Droid Fighter set from the 1999 Star Wars theme. Using the newly updated LDraw importer developed by TonyLobster, which can be found here. Having very good luck with this addon for multiple reasons. Mainly:
  1. Most of the cleanup and beveling options are now done by the addon itself, and very well if I may add.
  2. Very good material presets (Cycles naturally, but easily translated to LuxCore)
  3. Saves me from having to hand-model each piece to extreme detail, ultimately providing faster renders; I always could, to be fair using the Standard resolution models does show some slightly unrealistic meshing but for testing, it's sufficient.
Anyway, here's a test image of what I have so far. Planning on going from this HDRI lighting environment and modeling a room complete with a modeled lamp for more accurate and immersive lighting.

Can probably hardly tell but there is a small amount of SSS on each part.

Model itself is done, now just the environment.

Here's how it looks currently (going to rig this as well so that it can go from its regular flying mode to where it's "docked" like in the movies, standing up)

I'm attempting this right now, in fact :P

Proving to be quite a challenge for my PC. Had to get Brickr, which takes .obj files and converts them to Lego models. Probably easier in the long run. Have to put them to rather large resolutions in order to get the correct details though, so it might be extremely RAM dependent on my end.

In regards to this droid fighter, I'm attempting to model a small room for it. Still planning out the lighting scheme.
