I never see caustics inside caustics with a Path Tracer Render
I only use a HDRI Image as a light source ...
LunxRenderCore do the rest - FANTASTIC !

Very happy that you manage to get something nice out of your early days trial with Luxcore. BTW i think i should update a bit my Tutorial about SDS caustics ( caustics seen throught a mirror or water pool ).
can i see your settings ? i think we can extract far more perf if your result is based on my tutorial
just capture the screen with the caustics settings.

Ok here is the blend with some adjustments.Sorry
I forget to share the Blender File and textures
you can find as attached file ...
__Env cache disable (this is portal features for interior render)
__Disable light tracing (no big contribution here)
__ 10 milion photon back to 3 milion can even be 1 milion
__ reduce the caustic cache photon number/size/minimum size (for sharper faster caustics render)
__ raise up the clamping to 50 for brighter caustics
__ Halt condition reduce to 100
