Hi ! This is a real production project i am testing to benchmark Luxcore alpha on complexe indoor scene.I keep the resolution at 1k. The project is still unfinished with a lot furniture and asset to model. The render is currently running this is a quick capture.

Still running after a couple of time this is the update. This time it is stock render without post process :
I've also notice that glass lamp in the kitchen are to dark , it is not normal as i am in bidirectional at 16 + 16 deph plus glass2. I will check more.

After more analysis of the project i come with theses conclusion and result:
1) 90% of the lighting in this project come throught indirect light.So it is really hard to render .
solution: avoid sobol sampler and simple path tracing. Bidir is your friend
Solution: help the engine find a bit of direct light (i use spot light)

Yes, the large amount of indirect light is probably responsible for the long render times.
I also notice that most materials are very bright.
You probably already know it, but make sure that a "white" material is never brighter than about 0.7-0.8, because if it's too bright there will be many long lightpaths that are not killed by russian roulette. At least from what I understand about this.
You can then brighten the image in the tonemapper settings, so a 0.7 grey will look white (this is how it works in reality, too).
I also notice that most materials are very bright.

Also i try to set my bidir engine deph to something in the range of 8 + 8 max.
I really like the way Bidir engine perform in this project when i think that it is CPU base. I can just only hope all upcoming improvement will impact this area of luxcore too.
If only AMD or INTEL could give us PCIe x16 CPU cards (not high price xeon phi). But something like Ryzen 1950x on dedicated card.

It is possible, not trough PCIe but through Ethernet. I mean, network rendering does what you are looking for, it is the old solution for CPU-only rendering: https://knowm.org/24-core-linux-cluster ... from-ikea/ (cheap case, cheap motherboard, no gpu, fastest CPU worth buying and a bit of ram)
The IKEA supercomputer was a (old) funny example of this kind of solution.

Don't really like such solution ! I always prefere to be as compact as possible this why in the past you see me working a lot on GPU. But now i'm really impressed by Your job on the BIDIRECTIONAL engine it is amazing I love it. Now I'm searching for A Threadripper 1950X or a nice R7 1800X. The R7 1800x is almost 2X times faster than the i7 6700k it an amazing CPU.It is possible, not trough PCIe but through Ethernet.
