The year 2018 will end in an "epyc" fight between INTEL AND AMD. Yes Twos ULTRA BIG CPUs are on the box for next month ("before january").

Can't imagine how Luxcore will eat all thoses core : with Denoiser and Upcoming Light cache Photorealistic render animation is no longer a dream.

The cooling system required by the intel chip looks rather annoying.

The battle continues:

"And, if you're simply after the best bang for your buck, Threadripper 2 is the clear winner."
250 W TDP CPU together with one or two 180 to 250 W GPU leads to around 1000 W of total system's heat waste. This adds only about 10% to natural background radiation in a 10 square meter room, directly below a thin insulated roof under the bright 1000 W per square meter direct afternoon sun sizzle. You will get hot pictures for sure with the new render work horses.
