Ok got it running.

No by compiling though. It succeeded to build, but it turns out the game files are not open source and so I was missing those :D

For the Steam download I found a pretty dumb but simple workaround in some forum: Open the steam-webpage for the game via google translate. Works like a VPN in this case ^^

Great tip. That is something for the hard wired part in my flesh neuron network.
