................. No bs features that no one uses..........
What do you mean by that?
Streamlined workflow, what exists is fully automatized and problem free and users in most cases only need to press render button.
Luxcore is all over the place and you do need to invest some time to know what can break and when it breaks.
In my opinion (again, just my opinion) stuff like BCD or BiDir is +/- useless in so many cases that it only exists cause some people are confused and believe it is actually needed, these are just slow and very limited features that aren't providing anything but confusion...
I see Luxcore as an exciting untrodden path - developing new methods or different combinations of existing methods that gives people an opportunity to be creative and develop something new for the future.

Over the last year Luxcore has come along in leaps and bounds and has quickly become a terrific render engine (just look at what you’ve achieved in your own images and the reviews and technical support that you’ve received for them!)

The fact that 4000 people have recently downloaded V2.2 says a lot, and as the saying goes: ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’.

Their BCD is still there and few more denoisers with other rendering engines, samplers, detailed and further convoluted options. For in camera FX, multipasses, compositing... The fact is, if you wanna get into the guts of an engine, detailed options are available under Development/Experimental. That's simply professional.
IMO, some of the stuff that they have working in their favor are:
- commonly known naming conventions instead of scientific jargon
- good overall defaults
- simple material system (it's like Lux's, which was simpler to use with old Classic version) and they don't have Disney/Principled uber-confusing-crap)
- for majority they stick to their "effortless use" philosophy, but also cater to individual specialists
- professional user/ customer, client support, help-desk alike per case documentation, full featured tutorials,
- ...
And finally, marketing and social networking! Because, with big user base comes great gallery, for 'good work is loved everywhere'.

Oh, BTW, even with all intricate options and features available, users don't & won't ever touch them, if the way the engine, UI/UX and the flow is set to work OoB. ;)

Thank you for this explanation as I may have misinterpreted some of the earlier post's direction. :)

By the way, I can't reply to your pm cause you have disabled pm receiving(that's what forum messaging told me)

But anyway, no worries, it's no problem ;)

That's odd. I've received quite a few PMs in the past and hadn't knowingly changed the settings (until now to switch it back again). :?

It's interactive fast denoising vs final quality denoising situation this is not the case of luxcore

It's "Development/Experimental" not "Professional" feature set

And those exposed features are not needed to be used to make the renderer work in an optimal way.

Corona's main material is closer to being "ubermaterial" than luxcore's implementation of disney and many people often requested it to be even more robust... (which just makes sense, switching to metal, glass, plastic shouldn't require switching whole material - stuff like dedicated skin shader or advanced carpaint are special cases so they make sense)

Corona was very streamlined before all this, and it was one of the reasons if not the main reason it got so popular.
Stuff like VCM and PPM, bidir, was implemented and dropped very early and focus was on fast and flexible and problem free rendering. Photon mapping only made it's way back now that it can be completely hidden from user and setup automatically to do caustics (So you don't really know about it, it's just "caustics " checkbox in material settings)
