Already see by twice this coretecks video. But what i need is correct uncompromised raw number on how RDNA is good compares to TuRInG in raytracing computing.kintuX wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 9:58 pmRDNA vs TURING - The END of NVidia’s dominance (@ YT by Coreteks)

Re: AMD Radeon 5700XT not ready yet?
hi, I own a vega 56 but it has some issues (frequent freezing and crashing) I'm looking for another card. I am undecided because these new Navi have less shading units and I'm not sure whether they would perform similar to my Vega or not.
Did someone manage to run further tests on them? Could you keep this thread updated?
Thank you in advance!

Comparison with LuxCoreRendereleonorarossi1 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 6:54 am hi, I own a vega 56 but it has some issues (frequent freezing and crashing) I'm looking for another card. Number of shader units is a hint for performance comparison but not the only counting thing.

I did not notice any performance change over the last driver versions. Today, I installed the latest Radeon drivers 19.12.2 (2020). It runs LuxMark 4.0 with about the same speed as the previous driver version.
I guess you are interested in the benchmark metrics. Please check the following screen shots and keep in mind I have two cards installed and using. Cheers!

Really thanks for your input. In fact i was looking for a new GPU. i'm really attracted to Rx 5700XT (I mean really.i love rendering on AMD since a while). But the rendering Performance make me think about The RTX 2060 super.I did not notice any performance change over the last driver versions. This card is close to 1080Ti in rendering no matter how heavy the project is. it seem to be 2X faster than the 5700xt.

I'd go for the nVidia RTX.
You already have Optix RTX with Cycles in Blender 2.81 right now which is really awesome.
(BMW27 takes 17 seconds with my double 2070 RTX with 25% power reduction.)
It will come to you in LuxCore too later.
The AMDs currently have no raytracing cores and will not profit from those implementations in the future.
Re: AMD Radeon 5700XT not ready yet?
BTW this kind of test make me wonder if the story is complet with RDNA GPGPU performance ?
Re: AMD Radeon 5700XT not ready yet?
Do someone how this should theorically translate in render engine app like luxcore ?As to which design is better all comes down to how they get used: a program that generates lots of threads performing FP32 vector calculations and little else would seem to favor Navi, whereas a program with a variety of integer, float, scalar and vector calculations would favor the flexibility of Turing, and so on.
Re: AMD Radeon 5700XT not ready yet?
Again and again another benchmark showing a diferent story. INDIGO BENCH Show same patern the Rx 5700 xt perform like RTX 2070/2070 :
