I mean, the 99% of manual reading cases is when something doesn't work or isn't work as expected, so you open manual to see what's wrong. Good manual cover those matters. Bad manual has nothing about difficulties, like obsolete glasses in winlens. Like, I want to know how to use this "current blabla lens" button and there's nothing about it in the manual.

Thanks for link anyway.

p.s. this software is used by at least 3 users

@CodeHD
1. Didn't you thought about adding feature of exporting preset?
2. There's lens which have different radii (I mean aperture) on its front and back sides, like the one at the middle on picture. There's no support for this in plugin, right?

Do you mean importing? I did think of that, but I would probably have to write my own file parsers, didn't find anything open source before.
Exporting would require the same of course, plus some other functionality in the addon.

No, not yet, but I put it on the todo-list.

I won't have much time to work on the addon in the next few weeks though, I've got to hand in my phd-thesis by the end of the month ;)

I mean just save lens parameters to file, so you don't have to manually enter them again if you want to tweak something.
I think this can be done with pickle.

Made another tessar. Now I think I have some difficulty. All lenses in winlens library are 100 mm focal length. I want 35 mm.

I removed ground and hdri though.

I like the images. Even though the fireflies con't clear quickly with this kind of setup, it has a nice old camera feeling to it :)

About the 100mm vs 35mm issue, that's not easy to solve unfortunately. You would need to find a 35-mm design somewhere else. Maybe there are other lens libraries around?

After attempt to recreate lens from image from the internet and inventing working! but not focusing on infinity lens system, I've discovered this:

Ther's button in edit tab which look like pair of red/blue eyes.
Just enter desired efl and get your new lens!

Maybe it wasn't focusing issue. I think I've messed up photographic plate.
Anyway, here's downscaled 100 mm lens. I wanted it to be 28 mm, but it end up being not full-frame, so I think it's equivalent focal length is around 32 mm. I think it's nice anyway and it has sharp focus.

There's also some issues. The scene fits in 62 units cube.

Camera is at the edge, and there's no focus.

If I place camera near the world origin, roughly (0, 0, 0) – there is focus!
