Hi,
I did some animation tests.
I'm still struggling with those differences in brightness.
Even with BiDir engine those issues seem to appear.
This is my belonging and unsolved thread for that topic.

Re: Light intensities and matching Cycles
Hi all, if you really think about a rework of the light source input please use lumen [lm] for all light sources except the ambient ones (sky, sun, hdri). The lumen unit is directly handling the brightnes over color issue due to integrated human eye spectral sensitivity (v(lambda)) It's also photometr...

Re: LuxCore v2.3 proposed features
Well the difference is that such a ray file source describes the appearance of the light emitting surface additionally. It doesn't reduce the light source down to a point...
The far field intensity should be equal to the IES source description.

Re: LuxCore v2.3 proposed features
Hi, What do you think about integrating ray file support? It would allow lux core a simple and correct usage of artificial real world light sources... Follow this link to find some professional offered data, in this case for a single LED. https://www.osram.com/apps/downloadcenter/?path=%2Fos-files%2...

Re: LuxCore v2.3 proposed features
They didn't collected a lot of votes: Unfortunatly true! Do you think this might be due to a lack of available real world properties? I mean woudn't it be helpful to know scattering properites of real fog instea of toying around with shader parameters? Maybe we can arrange some kind of scientific s...

Re: LuxCore v2.3 proposed features
Hi, one more question is it already too late to ask what happend to the features that were postponed from V2.2? I placed some wishes for integration of more scientific material definitions (like tabulated data from old lux render) I really have lots of troubles to transfer wavelenght dependent mater...

Re: Shadow rays transparency for path tracers (aka hybrid glass)
Hi, this hybrid glass sounds totally like a good solution for lot of rendering issues. Does it work with roughness option also (or will it work for rough transparent surfaces in near future)? Could you imagine to calculate the transparency according to Fresnel equations? This should allow more preci...

Re: dark juice
Hi Dade, Thanks for your feedback. If the light source is not intersectable, why don't we make the eye point intersectable? It has been done only on some research renderer (for instance Mitsuba), the probability to hit the eye is so low, for a light path, that has very little practical application. ...

Re: dark juice
Hi everyone, it's more a question than a solution. If the light source is not intersectable, why don't we make the eye point intersectable? In all professional light simulation software solutions a pure forward simulation mode is used. I'm quite sure this forward (light) tracing could be speed up Op...

Re: CIE 171:2006
Hi, Glad to hear that someone finally seems to be interested in validating lux cores abilities... As described the test case 1 (out of 12) worked out very well. Except the IES file case. The gained luminance values were by far too little. Currently I'm working on test case 2, but my motivation becom...
