Re: GPU render experience
Looking at how Responsive AMD Pro Render in any resolution is, i would just say "it is possible". Even if the rendering would take 5% longer. Luxrender takes very long, here longer then any other render-engine. However the results are like that - especially caustics and Interior Renderings...

Re: GPU render experience
I have had several discussions on the responsiveness of the Luxcore UI - especially in higher output resolutions.
I am not sure there is any hope. I guess most devs do never render higher then 1920x1080

Re: spectral rendering
Take a look here. May be in the same way?
Its advisable to coordinate all such things with the devs.

Re: spectral rendering
Can you explain the picture?
From my point of view often when i use dispersion, many of the colours are missing and i get just R,G and B.

Re: Custom Normals do not work in render
Did you use the daily built?
Did you read what it says?
See the sentence starting with "Custom Normals will not work ...."

Re: "Running Out" of samples.
The halt condition must be a multiple for "Samples per pass" number shown in Sampler panel. The value is usually 1 so it doesn't matter but in the case of out-of-core rendering is important and > 1. This should be handled internally in the input parsing of the form. I can not input letter...

Re: spectral rendering
, or reduce all the spectral data to RGB values and fall back on three component rendering again. They suggest exactly what i said above. They want render a R,G and B Sample and each with the frequency dependent Material values. Then they sum it together. I think that is also what they did with POV...

Re: spectral rendering
Having said that, "Spectral Render" may also be implemented in several ways with more or less Quality and speed.
Because you can render just 3 Frequencies, or you could render 20. (Nature renders unlimited many).

Re: "Running Out" of samples.
Here i think Tiled Mode is even faster (even though it should be slower).
The only Problem is that Tiled Mode does NOT support light Tracing.
In all other points including "Responsiveness", Tiled-Mode is better.
Did you try just NOT to use the "Out of core rendering"?

Re: Rendering with multiple Instances of Blender also rendering multiple at the same time using virtual Desktops
You mean this: Blender-Market . Its a sort of "Render-Que". Really Blender does NOT have a Render-Que? I mean Cinema 4D has it since years, Poser also ... I wonder that this is not Part of Blender. Its something that is really missing in Blender. I will take a look on this. Besides that .....
