Re: holdouts in blender 2.80
The conversion of Cycles to LuxCore materials is a best attempt, and doesn't support all features.
You won't really get the best out of LuxCore if you just translate the Cycles nodes, some of the materials work a lot better from scratch. I don't think LuxCore has a holdout material

Re: Luxrender vs Cycles NOISE
Also more than happy to help with scene optimisation, it can take a little to get used too sometimes from Cycles.
Often, doing things the Cycles way (especially with materials) can often be detrimental to Lux, and simpler setups often get the result your looking for.

Re: Adaptive sampling improvements
Doesn't setting the adaptive strength to a lower value achieve the same pretty much; If its 0.7 then are 30% just sampled across the image and 70% use the adaptive map?
Feel free to correct my understanding it's more of a guess

Re: Kitchen + Living_
Its a nice looking scene, and a good start to LuxCoreRender!
My main suggestion would be it looks a little too clean, maybe add a little variation to some of the flat areas?

Re: When sun has a specific rotation default cube appears red?
The Sun/Sky lamps both use the rotation of the sun lamp to adjust their colour, try using a distant lamp instead?

Re: Light Intensities and Units
Awesome, Photographer looks pretty handy. I like using real values for things where possible, thanks for supporting LuxCore. Specifically I have a recently been rendering images for HMI's, (Industrial controls/icons are often so dated) and rendering realistic systems based on the CAD files looks so ...

Re: Computer for Luxcorerender
I'm happy to give some advice, here are a few questions that will help: - What kind of budget are you looking at? Even a rough estimate will help - How large are your scenes in memory usage, are they all likely to render on GPU or will a number of them be CPU only? - OpenCL compilers can sometimes s...

Re: Why is image with PGIC darker than without?
Have you tried increasing the depth of PGI?
On phone now, but IIRC that was a property. Your problem looks like glass with a too small path depth

Re: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X
AMD has announced the Ryzen 3950X with 16 cores for 749$. Definitely looking at building a system around this once benchmarks and reviews are out (any OC potential?) My 4790k/GTX 970 system is getting old, would love to go all AMD, I don't even game these days so rendering is all that matters, and ...
