Re: "Running Out" of samples.

I also have that curtain-effect. It starts down there and slowly wanders up until the picture is ready - or ruined depending on the scene.

I guess it comes from the "out of core rendering". In Tiled-Mode its not there.

Re: spectral rendering

My hint for the developers: For Spectral rendering there will be the need to rework all materials for the frequency dependent attributes. If you take the constants from the POV-Include files, that i have linked above, you can reach a very natural spectral result. Even to the level that several ISO-L...

Re: spectral rendering

There is possibly a sort of hint, how any of the Blender-Renderers can be made to render spectral. It was done with POV-Ray already 2013 and the results were interesting. If you want to give it a try take a look at the Links below. For this you will need: 1. to make several renders of the same scene...

Re: Memory in Graphics cards - better 2x3080 with each 10 GB or 1x3090 with 20 GB?

Definitely but: 1) Are there drivers? 2) Do you attach the SSD then to the Graphics card? I doubt this will just work by inserting a graphics card into the system. At least there must be windows-drivers for that. and finally: On nvidia‘s graphic transfer rate from RAM to VRAM is 14 GB/s. This is 32 ...

Which is a clear statement on this topic. SO nothing in the way then.
I was reading this topic.

Hahaa ... I was tending for B) originally because "out of core" rendering is a lot slower. Do you have an idea how much slower it is?

Re: Lux it! RenderFarm (analogue of Sheepit for Luxcore)

I have often heared that especially Renders with Luxcore differ a bit depending on if they are made with GPU / CPU and even the type.
If thats the case there may be some obstacles in the way of a distributed renderfarm.
Unless the results get mixed and equalized.

Re: Can I use LuxCoreRender with C4D?

There are all sorts of Renderers available for C4D. I think Octane is also available. They have materials that are optimzied for the C4D architecture. Exporting to Luxcore which is rather optimized for Blender sounds to me like a lot of work which can be avoided. If you can pay the $1500 for C4D, ma...

Sure, I guess me too. But besides that.
Would you prefer A) 2x3080 or b) 1x3090 in case of ...?

Memory in Graphics cards - better 2x3080 with each 10 GB or 1x3090 with 20 GB?

How is it seen from the standpoint of rendering possibly complex scenes? FROM the price a 3090 is not far from 2x3080. Generally 2x3080 have in total more Execution Units. Can in Parallel make more calculations then 1x3090. But using "Out of core" Rendering because the GPU RAM is not suffi...
