Re: Light emitting instances

Play with the number in green to increase or reduce instances (Put 150 or 1500 to not process forever) I'm running the test with 4500 particles. The result is: # LuxCoreRender v2.5beta1 2021/02/18 0be225772cddcc30bb7e34ad41b2d5f533618ebb # # 82 secs total: # [LuxCore][82.654] [GammaCorrectionPlugin...

Is the parsing process related only to instanced emitters?
Yes, it is.
Thanks!

B.Y.O.B. wrote: Thu Feb 18, 2021 4:28 pm My post was about the handling of light-emitting meshes inside LuxCore. I didn't mean that you should merge the instances.
Sorry for the misunderstanding B.Y.O.B. , thanks.

Re: Light emitting instances

One thing I'm wondering about is: Is the slow speed caused by every triangle being a separate light source? Would it speed things up to group all triangles of a light-emitting mesh into being one light source? And is that practical? This is the approach we are using in FELIX wen rendering with Maxw...

Re: Metal Material

Though I can't achieve the same color with measured data or Copper preset so far. The rendering times here were the same 11 minutes on my 80-threaded system. Maxwell's image is a bit clearer from noise, I expected the opposite. I used BlendLuxCore v2.4 here on the right. Brushed metal is the subjec...

Re: Metal Material

Welcome! :D ... Yeah, the devs here are so efficient, it's quite amazing actually. :P Usually when they say "I've added/fixed x", within a few hours it's already available for download here: https://github.com/LuxCoreRender/BlendLuxCore/releases Custom n, k values are in the latest releas...

Re: Light emitting instances

By the way, the instanced shpere schene has almost the same total amount of light emitting polygons,1.2M, as the full geometry no instances spiral scene (1M).
The instance scene reaches 16GB ram.

Re: LuxCore on Felix Render implementation

Thank you! here two further tests showing the only luxcore lighting weakness we found. Instanced emitters. All previous renders, regardless of the lighting setting, were rendered between 10 and 11 minutes instead these for 18 minutes and 28 minutes. 700 instances scattered spheres.jpg 16.000 instanc...

Re: Light emitting instances

Yes, that would be cool. It is needed for large scale night scenes.
